President

Dan Bowles

This is my first year as president of the Kansas Pilots Association

I am hoping it is a good term and the club can prosper for the future.  As much as I would like to be able to make that happen I realize that one person’s dreams and efforts will definitely fall short of that goal.  Therefore I am asking each member to take a moment and brainstorm as to how you can make a difference.

For US to be successful we must all participate and add something to the club.  We all have our own areas of expertise that could be added to the effort of making the club a success.

You can respond to this request in person, email, phone or text.

I currently fly a Piper 180 based at Newton Airport (KEWK). I started flying in 1998 but took a brief sabbatical in 2012. My wife Andrea and I decided to purchase a plane to travel on the weekends and found a great little 180 that we love to fly.

Andrea and I have enjoyed most of the destinations we have traveled to, but really enjoy our frequent flights to Bentonville Arkansas (KBVT) . We also enjoyed a long weekend to “The Hangar Hotel” in Fredericksburg Texas.

I hold a SEL Instrument rating but am currently working on my commercial on my way to CFI.

When I am not flying, I enjoy my time with my grandchildren, and spreading the great love of aviation my wife and I have.

Joining the KPA has been a great experience for me. I really enjoy talking with other aviation enthusiasts. The KPA fly-outs have allowed me more opportunities to fly as well as see many places I may have never traveled to.
